Row West Seals are based in Northampton but with Team Members in both Northampton and Somerset, who have entered the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2017.
Alan Bustin-Mulkern at 48, has varied experience in the world of Ultra-Running and Triathlon, which was a little more accessible than his first love which was mountaineering, after leaving the Army where he served in the Royal Artillery, and spending a year climbing and skiing his way around the French Alps, he fell into Ultra-Running and completed numerous Ultras including the infamous Marathon of Britain (twice). Moving from that into cycling and triathlon. Alan is a Commissioned Officer with the ACF, and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Aged 52, married with 4 children, I run my own successful telecoms business in Bampton which operates in a very demanding market place
where project & time management are crucial as in turn the 100’s of businesses that we deal with rely upon me and my business for their communication infrastructure, these skills will be invaluable in getting our pairs rowing team to the line in the best possible physical and mental shape to complete the challenge ahead of us.v Outside of work following a lifetime of playing semi-professional football I play cricket for Stoodleigh C C who have been promoted again this year and I am also an active member of Minehead Golf Club.

There is always someone with the bright idea to do something out of the ordinary, something unexpected and rowing the Atlantic is right up there. The feat we are undertaking will push us to the limits, test friendship and partnership but the feeling of success and achievement upon rowing into English harbour, Antigua will define both of us, define our lives.
